It's a little known fact that Marvin Gaye was one of Norwichs' most avid fans. Many a Saturday in the late sixties/ early seventies he could have been found in his usual spot in the south stand, blanket round his legs clasping a cup of bovril and shouting obscenities at the ref or the manager, which is how he happened upon the title of his most famous album.
"Oi, Saunders, Wuss gewin' orn?" he would yell when he felt that the team wasn't performing to their full potential, or when there was a contentious decision "Wuss gewin' orn ref-fer-reee?"
But alas, Motown had other ideas, they felt that the title would not appeal to his usual crowd so they forced him to change the name and airbrushed his favourite norwich scarf out of the picture, fortunately for them the album became a critical success inspite of the changes.
Luckily for you though, after nearly 40 years, we rediscovered the original cover, how the late, great Marvin intended it to be and reproduced it in full colour on a white t-shirt.
